DOTP plasticiser

DOTP is dioctyl terephthalate, the main plasticiser for flexible PVC. It is what makes the resin pliable: without a plasticiser PVC stays rigid, and the higher the DOTP loading, the softer the finished part. Chemically it is a terephthalate rather than an ortho-phthalate, which is why it is chosen where the composition of the material is subject to separate requirements.
